Why our JLPT pass rate is surprisingly
twice the national average

Thorough instruction is provided in small, 5-level group classes according to each student’s level.

Students are placed in the class best suiting their level based on the results of four examinations taken during the year.

Skipping grades

Students who have earned excellent grades and have passed the JLPT N2 or N1 level earlier than planned can start studying in a different department at JEC without waiting for the original course completion in March.
Immediately after admission, students take a language placement test, and are appropriately placed in the class that best suits their Japanese ability. Instructors can steadily deepen students’ understanding of the Japanese language because lessons are provided to students all at the same level aiming for the same goal. Our program is implemented to ensure that all students improve. Instructors help each student maximize his/her ability through efforts such as giving individual tasks and offering advice based on their answers.

Experienced instructors with Japanese teaching qualifications are enrolled

of instructors in the Japanese Language Dept.

  • Full-time: 6
  • Part-time: 6

Support system featuring a total of 12 instructors

All of our instructors have an accredited qualification to teach Japanese, and have experience teaching abroad in countries such as Korea, Myanmar, Brazil, and Russia. We teach with enthusiasm, using not only conventional teaching materials but also our original teaching resources to accelerate students’ understanding. We share joy with our students when they pass the JLPT level they had prepared for. Meanwhile, if they fail to pass, we investigate with the students the reason for their failure, and give them advice and encouragement. Because JEC is a school certified by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, our international students receive the same high level of education as Japanese students.

Learn not only Japanese language but also its culture.

We hold various cultural learning events throughout the year to enable students to not only learn Japanese language but also experience Japanese culture and thereby understand the beauty and appeal of Japan. Learning Japanese culture leads to understanding the basis of the way most Japanese people think. This would be very useful for students in communicating with Japanese people after starting to work in society.
